Our Services

Residential care

Prom Country Aged Care Inc. (PCAC) provides both long term and respite care according to a philosophy of person directed care which focuses on empowering residents, staff, families and other stakeholders to provide a better life for our residents. Our staff continually strive to create the right home environment for each resident. Care plans and daily routines are individualised with each resident’s preferences taken into consideration. This provides our residents with maximum choice and decision making regarding their care and lifestyle. PCAC offers ageing in place in our new 68-bed state of the art facility Prom Country House. This means we can provide continual care for a resident, as their care needs shift from low to high, without having to leave our home.

Respite care

Respite care is available for people from the community who have need of care for a short period of time, for example, when their carer needs a holiday. Short stay arrangements are beneficial to both the person having respite and the caregiver, as it provides each with a restful break from everyday responsibilities. PCAC offers residential respite care at Prom Country House. Respite rooms have ensuites and are furnished with a bed, lounge chair,  wardrobe, bedside table and a mobile utility table.

Residents are also encouraged to maintain their activities and connections in the broader community. Many of our residents for example, continue with clubhouse activities such as bowling, golf, or cards.

Living programs, lifestyle and fun

We strive to facilitate a resident focused community which provides a responsive and companionable environment. We continue to  help staff and residents build meaningful relationships and create an invigorating, stimulating, and fulfilling environment. Planned activities and entertainment form a large part of our programs, and our creative activities teams customise their lifestyle and leisure plans to include different skill and awareness levels.

We value the fact that our residents have much to offer us. We nurture all strengths and encourage participation and contribution when they are their choices.

Our rooms and facilities

A resident living at Prom Country House has access to all common areas of our home. There are two large internal courtyards and several smaller courtyards, a large, grassed area that include several raised garden beds. Special shared lifestyle features include a cinema/family dining room, reflection/library room, café, craft area and workshop, doctor’s consulting room and a hairdresser. In addition to these areas shared by the whole building, each of the three wings has its own dining room, lounge room and sitting room, as well as an internal courtyard with a glassed sitting area facing it.

At Prom Country House a decision to utilise a keypad system has been made in the best interests of some residents' safety. A keypad system is the least restrictive form of restraint and ensures the safety and dignity of all concerned. There is access to the keypad code for all residents deemed competent and able. Staff at PCH willingly monitor the entry and exit between the home and outside arenas with the aim of ensuring safety and dignity for all our residents.
